Onwards Norfolk: Training for the Hospitality & Leisure sector

From January 2022, we will be working in partnership with Norfolk’s Business Improvement Districts to deliver a variety of training programmes for those working – or seeking work – in the hospitality and leisure sector.
These will enable over 500 people from within Norwich, King’s Lynn and Great Yarmouth to develop the skills, experience and knowledge needed to develop their careers or start careers in the hospitality industry.

Full day: Anti Sexual Harassment Training & Drink Spiking, Safeguarding, and Vulnerability Training
This full day training course will enable you to identify the issues surrounding sexual harassment, safeguarding and vulnerability management of women that you might encounter in the night-time economy, and how to prevent drink spiking within licensed premises, including training staff to recognise and act on suspected spiking incidents.

Anti-Sexual Harassment Training
The training course will enable you to identify the issues surrounding sexual harassment, safeguarding and vulnerability management of women that you might encounter in the night-time economy. By the end of the course you will have learnt skills to deal with these incidents.

Age Verification
The Age Verification training will provide staff with the key knowledge and understanding of issues surrounding age verification, identification and how to comply with the law. It will also equip participants with information on creating an effective age verification policy.

Allergen Awareness including Natasha's Law
This course is designed to give all staff who handle food the necessary knowledge of allergies and intolerances, helping to keep customers safe. Attendees will learn how to identify the main allergens, comply with food allergen laws, and reduce contamination.

COSHH Level 3 Training
This course is for employees and employers who require an awareness of the COSHH regulations, control measures and safety procedures. This training will ensure that employees liable to be exposed to a substance hazardous to health are suitably and sufficiently informed, instructed and trained.

Drink Spiking, Safeguarding, and Vulnerability Training
This course will provide guidance for venues on how to prevent drink spiking within their licensed premises, including training staff to recognise and act on suspected spiking incidents. It will also empower venues to implement a variety of safeguarding measures, and highlight the range of tools that are available to help eradicate drink spiking from night time economy venues.

Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (RQF)
This 1 day qualification is aimed at individuals who are, or intend to be, food handlers working in catering. The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment in catering role, or to support a role in the workplace. Delegates gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food.

Health and Safety in a Food Environment
This course provides attendees with a practical understanding of workplace health and safety, as well as their responsibilities when it comes to protecting themselves and others from hazards. This will include identifying hazards and enacting control measures to safeguard staff and customers within the workplace.

Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) Level 2: Accredited
The online APLH training course will provide learners with a clear understanding of the framework of the laws and regulations that underpin the responsibilities of the personal licence holder.
The Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) is a mandatory requirement for gaining your personal licence. You can complete all the learning required online through a comprehensive e-learning course. Once the course is completed, you will then need complete your exam via a web portal which will be recorded via a web camera. Learners will be provided with all necessary information about how to complete the e-assessment.

Award for Licensed Premises Staff (ALPS)
This course will provide attendees with a Level 1 Award for Personal Licence Holders (ALPS). It is designed to equip attendees with a clear understanding of the law and regulation frameworks associated with being a personal license holder, and includes an assessment at the end of the course.
