Best Bar None
Night Time Economy Solutions has been appointed to manage the Home Office-backed Best Bar None scheme. Best Bar None is an awards and accreditation scheme that recognises licensed premises that operate responsibly. There are currently around 70 schemes in England and Scotland. As well as providing consultation services to BBN coordinators and support for assessors, we build relationships with the trade to share best practice and work with the regional schemes and wider partners to ensure the scheme structure and assessment criteria meet national priorities and emerging trends. We also attend new scheme launch events and represent Best Bar None at conferences, seminars and events.
Local Government Association Case Studies
The Local Government Association (LGA) engaged NTES to produce a set of case studies of councils’ work on managing the evening and night time economy to support a new guide for councillors on the Licensing Act 2003, due to be published in the summer of 2019 The case studies were commissioned to highlight innovative/cost effective initiatives to tackling crime and disorder, regulatory approaches, partnership working (e.g. between licensing authorities, the police, licensed premises, health services), use of Safe Spaces and training for those working in the night-time economy.
Wakefield Purple Flag Application
Wakefield BID commissioned us to support and advise them in the feasibility, assessment, and application of its Purple Flag Accreditation. We worked with Wakefield BID and other stakeholders on every aspect of the application and assessment including performing an overnight audit and offering ideas and advice on how to strengthen the partnership and overcome enduring issues.
