Project

Chester Safe Space

27 Nov 2018

In June 2018 we were appointed by Cheshire West and Chester Council to manage the set up of a new Safe Space in Chester City Centre. This includes identifying the best location, recruiting and training staff and volunteers, providing policies and a handbook, setting up the Safe Space, including the offer, stock, marketing support, stakeholder engagement and providing monitoring tools.

The Safe Space will be a mobile unit brought into the City Centre on Saturday nights, Race days and Freshers Week. It will provide first aid, a place to sober up, somewhere safe to wait for a taxi, basic signposting to drugs, alcohol, domestic violence and abuse support and mental health support. The aim of the Safe Space is to reduce the number of people attending A&E.

This project will go live at the end of September 2018
